Ingredients

  • 1 lb green grapes removed from stems
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 1 block (8 oz) cheddar cut into 1/2-inch cubes, reserving one 1/4-inch-thick slice for the star
  • 8 oz pepper jack cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 12 oz hard salami sliced
  • 0.5 cup green olives pitted
  • 6 oz crackers assorted
  • 6 pretzel sticks
  • 4 rosemary fresh sprigs

Equipment

  • 1 large serving board

Method

  1. Rinse the grapes and tomatoes and dry them thoroughly.
  2. Cut a star from the reserved cheddar slice with a small star-shaped cutter, then fold the salami slices into quarters.
  3. On a large serving board, arrange the grapes, tomatoes, cheddar, pepper jack, and salami in five horizontal rows that decrease in length from the bottom to the top, filling gaps with the olives.
  4. Place the cheddar star at the top of the tree, lay the rosemary sprigs along the tree’s sides, and arrange the pretzel sticks at the bottom as a trunk.
  5. Fan the crackers around the base of the tree and serve.

Notes

For neat rows, dry the grapes and tomatoes thoroughly before arranging. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days; freezing is not recommended. For a gluten-free board, use gluten-free crackers and pretzel sticks.
