Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 0.25 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

Method

  1. Whisk the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and ground cloves in a small saucepan over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to simmer, about 2 minutes.
  2. Reduce the heat to low, whisk in the butter, and simmer gently for 3 to 5 minutes, until glossy and slightly thickened.
  3. Brush the glaze over an 8- to 10-pound fully cooked ham during the last 20 to 30 minutes of reheating at 325°F, applying it in two coats.

Notes

For the glossiest finish, brush on the glaze in two coats during the final 20 to 30 minutes of reheating. Refrigerate leftover glaze for up to 5 days; it can be frozen. For a dairy-free option, replace the butter with plant-based butter.
