Ingredients

  • 1 package (12 oz) cocktail sausages
  • 10 slices bacon cut crosswise into thirds
  • 0.75 cup light brown sugar packed

Equipment

  • 1 9x13-inch baking dish

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with foil.
  3. Wrap each cocktail sausage with a piece of bacon and secure it with a toothpick.
  4. Arrange the wrapped sausages in the dish.
  5. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over them.
  6. Bake for 35–45 minutes, until the bacon is browned and the sugar is bubbling.
  7. Let the smokies rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Arrange the smokies in a single layer so the sugar bubbles evenly. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days; freezing is possible, though the bacon may lose some crispness. Turkey bacon can be used as a dietary swap.
